I hope you're all doing well. I have a question regarding PHP job roles and the importance of knowledge of database management systems (DBMS).
Let me provide a little context. I’ve been learning PHP for some time now and I am really enjoying coding in this language. I recently came across a job posting for a PHP developer position and noticed that it listed knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) as a requirement.
I have some basic knowledge of databases and have worked with simple database operations in PHP before, but I don't have much experience with DBMS specifically. So, I'm wondering how important it is to have a strong understanding of DBMS in PHP job roles?
I understand that PHP can be used to interact with various databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle, but I'm not sure to what extent a PHP developer needs to know about the underlying DBMS.
Do you think having a good understanding of DBMS is crucial for PHP job roles? Does it significantly affect the performance or efficiency of PHP applications? Or is it something that can be learned on the job if I have a good grasp of PHP?
I would really appreciate any insights or advice from those of you who have experience with PHP development in the industry. Your thoughts and suggestions would be valuable in helping me understand the importance of DBMS knowledge for PHP job roles.
Thanks in advance for your help!
